"I have never let my schooling interfere with my education."

Mark Twain

“When I think back on all the crap I learned in high school it’s a wonder I can think at all.
And though my lack of education hasn’t hurt me none, I can read the writing on the wall.”
Paul Simon

I do not hold myself out to be any sort of expert or to hold any extraordinary or exceptional wisdom.  I do not hold any advanced degrees or possess any revealed "hidden knowledge," and that admittedly what "education" (schooling) I do possess is limited.  I am an autodidactic and have seen to my own education on the things of the world I felt I needed to know more about, instead of what I was "taught" was important to know, or the "proper" definition of "Reality."  Perhaps this makes me additionally advantaged to question what is generally accepted as "Reality," for I have few preconceived notions or impressions implanted by others that I have personally accepted as "Truth."

"He who knows nothing  is closer to the truth than he whose mind

is filled with falsehoods and errors."

Thomas Jefferson

"All truth passes through three stages; first it is ridiculed, then it is

violently opposed, then it is accepted as being self evident."

Author Schopenhauer

I understand that a portion of the people that read that previous paragraph just had their minds slam shut and the book was put down quickly, and this is the reason that I felt a need to write this book.  The world is very controlled by those in power and this power has the majority programmed to believe that only people with authority granted by numerous levels of degrees of education are the only ones with authority to speak on the subject of their respective specialty.  If someone granted authority through degrees of education speaks, we accept it unquestioned, because after all, they are the authority.  Someone without this "educated authority" is to be scorned, because after all, how can they possibly know what they are speaking of for they have no "documented" credibility?  People no longer "think,"  but rather rely on those "experts" to tell them what to think.  If you get to this point of the book, congratulations, you have an inquiring mind and you are who I am trying to reach with this work, and I invite you on a journey into critical analytical thought.

"We cannot solve our problems with the same mindset that created them."

Albert Einstein

What I do claim is that I THINK, in my own way, and what I think is that "Reality" is quite different than commonly perceived.  I think that we have been lied to, and that Reality is quite different than what we have been "educated" (indoctrinated/programmed) into believing.  I think that most of what I have been told my whole life is pure fantasy, and that this Reality is in fact pure madness.

"Those that are able to see beyond the shadows and lies of their culture

will never be understood, let alone believed, by the masses."

Plato

"The human heart cries out for help; the human soul implores us for deliverance;

but we do not heed their cries, for we neither hear nor understand.

But the man  who hears and understands we call mad, and flee from him."

Khalil Gibran

What I do claim is that I am a Practical Madman.  I am a Madman that recognizes the insanity that is the world as is commonly perceived, and is thus perceived by this insane world as being the "mad" one; and I seek Practical definitions and solutions to this inflicted state humanity finds itself in today.  I propose that Reality as it is commonly perceived, is manipulated, and upon deep analysis ..... is quite insane, by all definitions.  I accept the Personal Responsibility of critical analysis of all that I perceive ... and challenge you to so the same.

"It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society."

Jiddu Krishnamurti

"Mental health is an ongoing process of dedication to reality at all costs."

Dr. Peck - The Road Less Traveled

"Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over,

and expecting a different result"

Albert Einstein

What I do claim is that the "knowledge" I will put forth in this work is my own, personally divined through a 58+ year personal journey, with an innate pre-installed disbelief in anything anyone ever told me, but an exceptional memory to retain all of that "noise" for reference back to at a later time for continual re-evaluation.

"Remember, amateurs built the Ark; professionals built the Titanic."

There is a distinction between "knowledge" and "education," and neither equate to "wisdom." "Knowledge" is the sum of all information, as unrelentingly sought and exposed, taken for a total evaluation and continual re-evaluation, and summation of the whole. "Knowledge" is nondiscriminatory, nondirectional, and nonjudgemental, and it never ceases accumulation.  "Education" is a linear succession of "courses" towards "knowledge" one takes, as designed and defined by others, and accepted by the whole (or at minimum by the student,) and once the courses are "satisfactorily completed" (as determined by those in authority) they are considered to be educated and education basically ceases (some professions do adhere to  required "continuing education" courses to be taken annually to reinforce and update the indoctrination.)

"Education" is degrading, for the most degrading thing you can do to another human is to "grade" them by your indoctrinated and accepted standards.  Educational "Titles" or "Degrees" separate and divide the masses into those that "know" and "the unwashed masses," aka the "useless eaters."  "Education" is discrimination and prejudice.  In my summation this is the sum of man's affliction he suffers so greatly from today and I will present documented evidence that this is all by a "Grand Plan."

"Wisdom" is the elimination of all doubt and divisions.  Ignorance is a choice to ignore reality, and there are vast numbers of well educated ignorant people that are by no means to be considered "wise," and they prostitute their indoctrinated "wisdom"  ad nauseam, and the useless eaters swallow it whole.

"Learning" if honestly approached, is a personal choice to continually and unceasingly question (and experiment with/investigate/define) EVERYTHING, and to accept NOTHING till personally PROVEN, but then to continue to seek truth and to question even that which is accepted.  "Learning" follows no linear course to "knowledge" as plotted by others, but rather wanders at will in all directions towards "Wisdom."  This lesson never ceases till the mind ceases, or one attains "True Wisdom."  I do not claim such a feat - if such a thing is attainable.  I am still seeking the answer to this question and I invite you on my quest.

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.

Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.

Genius will not: unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.

Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."

Calvin Coolidge

I "KNOW" that I do not know all, and that in order to consider myself an educated or enlightened man, and to convince myself even for a moment that I have even an inkling of what "Reality" is (for I am the only one that I have an obligation to "prove" anything to) I must constantly and continually question, then research ... EVERYTHING ... before I "believe" it, but that I must also retain all of that information, discarded or not, for this continual process.

"An honest man knows the limits of his knowledge.

If an honest man finds he is wrong,

he either becomes right,

or ceases being honest."

Mark Twain

"I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing,

and that is that I know nothing."

Socrates

This is my affliction, the "splinter in my mind" to borrow a phrase from Morpheus in the Matrix.  I confess ... I am a Madman, as per the commonly accepted definition of the word, for this is how the world views one who does not blend into and accept the world as defined by others.  Today this is commonly defined by the "experts" as ODD or "Oppositional Defiance Disorder," but as I am trying to point out, I do not accept common definitions.   The definition of ODD is "a condition in which a child displays an ongoing pattern of uncooperative, defiant, hostile, and annoying behavior towards people in authority."  I am that child and those in "authority" will always define those that question as "hostile" and "annoying."  I will forever remain uncooperative and defiant to those that claim "authority" over me.  I am on a mission of "Learning" and I remain defiant of the definitions and categories as defined by others, and I invite you on a journey ... if you have the nerve.

"Against criticism a man can neither protest nor defend himself;

he must act in spite of it,

and then it will gradually yield to him."

Johann Wolfgang von Gothe

What will be contained herein is the sum of my Madness, and a personal 58+ year journey into "Reality" and personal definitions of the same.  I accept that it is my personal affliction, this "splinter in my mind" that causes me to question EVERYTHING that is presented to me by others as "Reality."  I accept personal responsibility to be the best Practical Madman that I can possibly be.

"My people suffer from lack of knowledge."

Prophet Hossea

Modern science defines "darkness" as the "absence of light" but I would extend that definition to the darkness that man finds his self in today is the absence of the light of Knowledge.  A lone candle can banish the darkness, but there is no amount of darkness that can banish the light.  True Knowledge has been sequestered and hidden, and is actually used as a weapon against those kept from it. Wisdom is Truth and Truth is absolute, and it exists, hidden or not, and it will reveal itself when man is ready and the time is right.

The time is right .. are you ready?  I lay down the gauntlet - do you accept the challenge?

My goal in this work is not to lead you in any particular direction of thought, but rather to show you that you have teeth (that have been hidden from you by the modern "education system") and to give you something to gnaw on, food for thought as it were.  I will show you many directions of thought and leave the final decision to you.

Historical facts/fantasy/entertainment/rantings of a madman ... the perception of what is contained herein is a personal decision ... YOURS ... but I do hope that you will proceed with an open mind.

"A mind is like a parachute - it only works when it is open."

Frank Zappa

"I think, therefore I am."

Descartes

"I rant, therefore I am."

The Practical Madman

This work is an invitation on a journey, nothing more.  It is but a story, a HERstory book.  It will challenge all that you define as "REAL."  Are you up to the challenge?  Are you secure in all you know to be "REAL?"
